I hereby pledge to make every effort to honor all current and future boycotts of hotels where employers are thwarting the reasonable and humane goals of the Hotel Workers Rising (HWR) campaign.

With this endorsement, I am showing my support for working men and women in U.S. and Canadian hotels, thousands of whom are members of the LGBT community. These men and women often work at poverty wage levels, without affordable health care, under physically difficult working conditions.

LGBT travelers spend over $60 billion a year on business and recreational travel, and the major hotel chains spend millions of dollars annually on advertising that specifically targets the gay market. As a member of the LGBT community, I do not believe that the hotels should be profiting from our business when they impose unfair working conditions on members of our own community and all other working men and women. I support the growing alliance between the political leadership of the LGBT community and labor unions to pursue justice in the workplace and the larger society.
